Guided through Grief
A Workshop for Processing Grief through Creative Expression
Free Form Dance
Writing
Grief houses itself in our physical bodies, residing within until we assist it out with caution and care. The guided, free-form dance invites participants to reconnect with their bodies and release stored emotion. Dance becomes a bridge between silence and expression, honoring grief without needing to explain it.
Guided writing offers a safe place to witness your own story. With reflective prompts and creative exercises, Mary steers participants from rumination to release and helps them to find the courage to say what the heart has been holding.
Connection
Every workshop concludes with space to process alongside their peers through the option to share. In this closed container, participants find comfort in the presence of people growing through their grief. Connection becomes the medicine, mitigating the pain when it is witnessed with compassion.

About Mary
Mary Bacon is an established theater and film actress who has long understood the power of embodiment. She has studied the art of emotion, movement and storytelling for decades and weaves these practices beautifully both on and off the stage.
After the unexpected death of her husband, Andrew, she turned to somatic practices such as dance, yoga, meditation, and writing as a way to navigate her own grief.
Now, Mary sets the stage for others in Guided Through Grief, a movement and writing workshop that helps them find connection, hope, and renewal through the body.
